Rex General Contractor was founded in 2004 by Armando Reyes, a Los Angeles native who spent his early career as a framing foreman on commercial projects across the San Fernando Valley. Armando started the company with two core beliefs: that homeowners deserve honest pricing before the work starts, and that the crew doing the work should be accountable to one standard from first day to last.
Over the past twenty years, we have completed projects in Silver Lake, Culver City, Los Feliz, Koreatown, Palms, Echo Park, and dozens of other neighborhoods throughout the city. We hold a California B General Contractor license and maintain full liability insurance and workers compensation on every job. Our 4.8 Google rating across 28 reviews reflects a client base that refers us repeatedly to their neighbors and family.
We are not the largest contractor in Los Angeles. We are the most careful one. Every project is assigned to a dedicated project manager who is on site daily, communicates regularly, and is reachable when you have questions. That is the standard we hold ourselves to and the reason our clients keep coming back.
"I started this company because I was tired of watching homeowners get burned by contractors who disappeared after the deposit cleared. In Los Angeles, your home is your biggest asset. The person building it should treat it that way. We show up, we communicate, and we finish what we start."
A small, experienced team that handles every project from estimate to final walk-through.
Licensed B General Contractor with over 22 years in Los Angeles residential and light commercial construction. Armando personally reviews every estimate and conducts the final project walk-through before client sign-off.
Daniel has managed over 60 projects for Rex General Contractor since joining in 2011. He coordinates daily scheduling, subcontractor communication, and client updates for all active jobs. Fluent in English and Spanish.
Jessica prepares all fixed-price proposals and manages client communication from first inquiry through permit issuance. She has a background in architectural drafting and coordinates directly with the City of Los Angeles permit office on every project.
Three principles that have guided how we build and how we treat clients since 2004.
We do not subcontract responsibility. Every decision on your project goes through one project manager who is on site, reachable by phone, and present at every city inspection. If something is not right, we fix it at our cost.
We build things that are meant to last 30 years, not pass a final inspection. Framing, waterproofing, and structural work are done to code plus our own higher standard because we know these homes will be lived in by families.
Your written estimate is your contract price. We document scope, allowances, and exclusions in plain language so you know exactly what is included. There are no change orders for work that should have been in the original scope.
Free estimate, no pressure. We'll come to you, assess the job, and give you a written quote within 48 hours.
